Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Our SENCO is Mrs Lucy Wilson (Head Teacher) who can be contacted at school on 01777 817265 or lwilson@mattersey.notts.sch.uk

At Mattersey Primary School we provide a broad and balanced curriculum and aim to offer excellence and choice to all of our pupils, whatever their ability or needs so that they are happy, confident and successful learners; prepared for life. The National Curriculum is our starting point for planning that meets the specific needs of individuals and groups of children. We have high expectations of all our pupils and aim to achieve this through the removal of barriers to learning and participation. We want all our pupils to feel that they are a valued part of our school community.

A useful flow chart which shows parents what to do if you are worried about your child. The best place to always start is your child's class teacher; they will know your child the best and are responsible for the day-to-day teaching. We use a graduated response approach which aims to identify needs early and put the support in place quickly.
